1. Bike from Bethesda to Georgetown – Crescent Trail: Start in downtown Bethesda directly across from Barnes & Noble and bike all the way to Georgetown (around 11 miles each way). The trip is almost entirely flat, and the views of the canal are breathtaking.
2. Kayaking – the Boathouse: Go kayaking on the Potomac–you just might run into a Stone Ridge employee who can help you out while you’re there!
3. Nighttime crepes – Georgetown Scoops: Craving dessert late at night? Georgetown Scoops is a small ice cream store that actually happens to sell homemade crepes, as well. It’s a pretty discreet, small shop, so look for enormous jars of Nutella in the window. Then, eat them on a table outside and people-watch on M Street. If you’re lucky, you’ll be eating in a light drizzle.
4. Eat crabs – the Wharf: There’s nothing quite like coming down on a nicely sized, Old Bay-seasoned crab with a mallet. Enjoy this in the perfect ambience!
5. Eat crabs – the Wharf: There’s nothing quite like coming down on a nicely sized, Old Bay-seasoned crab with a mallet. Enjoy this in the perfect ambience!
6. Eat a burger at ShakeShack: Various ShakeShack locations are dispersed throughout DC; pick one, try a delicious burger (or a vegetarian “shroom burger”), and cool down with a creamy milkshake. Cheese lovers: the cheese fries are truly incredible. Don’t forget to snap a picture once your tray arrives and Instagram it!
7. Visit the botanic gardens: Explore the beautiful flora and fauna. Perhaps spend some time reflecting there.
8. Brunch at Le Diplomate: Take a morning to brunch at one of the U Street neighborhood’s trendiest restaurants. If you’re a French toast fan, definitely indulge in it there.
9. Screen on the green – outdoor movie on National Mall: Gather together some friends and some blankets and head to the National Mall and watch a movie “screen on the green.”
10. Go to a Nationals baseball game: Take the metro to Nationals Park and eat some junk food.
